Irene Kaoru is a San Francisco-based artist working primarily in watercolor and ink. Her compositions explore natural forms through an intuitive process that embraces both control and surrender. Drawing from landscapes, seascapes, and botanical forms, her work investigates patterns and geometries found in nature while maintaining an emphasis on organic fluidity.
As a creative director, she brings her fine art sensibility and strategic design thinking to select projects. With formal training from Parsons School of Design and a foundation in Art History from Barnard College, she offers a sophisticated understanding of visual language across traditional and digital mediums. Her approach to art direction is informed by years of multimedia exploration and professional design experience, allowing her to bridge pure artistic expression with intentional creative development.
Her work has included parties, traditional and interactive art exhibitions, print magazines, websites and digital, trade show booths and experiences, photo shoots, theatrical productions, street art, and ad campaigns.
